Can I get some advice, please?

What sucks? What's decent? What am I doing right or wrong? How can I fix it?

I'm not sure exactly what's wrong because I don't know too much about video cameras, but I wouldn't expect too much taking photographs with a video camera since that's not their main function. From what I can see, the image sensor is not great for taking photographs. It looks like a small amount of data, for one thing. Have you considered a P&S or DSLR camera for photographs?

Yeah, I'm waiting for a bit of cash to pick myself up an A200. Already have a Minolta film SLR. I'll have it developed and scanned eventually...
