Can someone help with Panasonic TZ3?

I just got a mint condition panasonic tz3. There is no memory card with the camera. Here's what I'm having trouble with. The lcd viewfinder is just a black screen. It will display pics that were left in camera, and it will display all settings. When I turn camera on, it says images will be stored in built in memory I guess because the card is missing. All functions work, the zoom, changing settings everything but no viewfinder. I have taken out battery re inserted it and done a factory reset. But it still won't work I've searched for an answer but can't find any new info. Any help would be appreciated

Altho the factory reset should have fixed anything that was to setting, did you try fiddling with the lcd mode?

Ya I tried that too man I wish I could get this thing going. Is there a sensor thats bad?
