can you tell me about medium format?

Thanks voodoocat and e_!! And can you tell me voodoocat, how does the Kowa brand compare to say the Mamiya brand? Is it as good or better, or what? Is it a less expensive brand? And if an 80mm is equal to a 50mm, would a 150mm be equal to a 120mm in 35mm, and so on? Thanks again!

The Kowa is considered the cheap mans hasselblad. Some people swear by them and some prefer to stay away. They have a pretty loyal following and it is much cheaper than Hasselblad.

As far as focal lengths are concerned, I'm not exactly sure. It has something to do with the length of the lens. It takes a longer lens because the negative is bigger.
