It's Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, so we visited my in-laws yesterday. Here are a few pics we took before dinner:

IMO, the background on the last picture is a little too blurred for a portrait shot. I think if you where going for something a little surreal then it might work, but not for this.

I love the 1st and 2nd ones, due to the expression, but the pose in the 3rd photo is throwing me off.

I like 1,2 and 4. I agree the pose on 3 seems off. I do however love the bokeh on all them.

Thanks for looking and for the feedback bruce and sweetneers. Is it because she is supporting herself on the tree in shot three that it looks awkward?

I think it's because both the child and the woman are at an angle. I think it would look a lot better if the woman where sitting up and the child where in the same pose. Just my preference, of course.

To me it's both the angle and the distance between the 2 subjects.
