And so, work continues. Here's another photograph from a recent trip. I like the "moment" of the picture, but looking for a way to really bring it out. I personally would have liked a better angle for this shot, but it just wouldn't have been possible. Any thoughts out there?

This is a very nice moment. I would say that the lighting isn;t the best or perhaps it may be the wb but a nice shot

Conceptually excellent....compositionally a bit problematic ?

A man and his dog.

Can't get any better

Yeh, now that I've had more time to think, you're right...it's mostly lighting. I think the sun being lower in the sky and not shaded would have helped.

I am an amateur, so bear with me if my suggestions sound ridiculous. But what about Picasa? They have a "Fill Light" tool that lets you adjust the lighting.

I kind of played with the image a little... if you mind let me know.

But, I adjusted the fill light, then used a tool called HDR-ish (Maximum on the bloom, Light on the radius and faded until it resembled a picture again) then cropped the image making it slightly shorter. I think it looked okay.

But then again I am an amateur.

Throw it up man...always happy to take a look.

Yep, just about what I was thinking too. Great work on the re-envisioning. I went back to the drawing board and did some lightroom'n. Thankfully with the raw, I don't have some of the weird color tones that showed up. I think in the original I was focused too much on trying to bring out the colors that I lost the light. Went in and changed the tone to be much warmer and went up about 2/3 of a step for exposure. Here is the redux:

Overall, I'm much happier. Thanks everyone for your feedback, and by all means keep it coming if you have thoughts or revisions.
