I own the 16-35 and it is great - on a full frame sensor. HOWEVER, at the wide end it can really distort people's faces and heads, so maybe rent one and work with it before you shoot a wedding. I tend to use my 24-105 WAY more than my 16-35.

True that. However the 16-35 can also get you some pretty cool shots on a full frame camera.
