canon 25mm extension tube?

Has anyone on this forum used the 100mm macro lense with the canon extension tube (25mm)? Just curious if it is worth the $140 dollars.

Both the extension tube AND a macro lens? What are you trying to shoot?

To me, the point of extension tubes is basically to turn a non-macro lens into a macro lens.

I don't know, but I would guess that if you paired the 25mm tube with the 100mm lens, your minimum focus distance would be way too close...it either wouldn't work or the lens would be so close to the subject that it would block all the light.

Interesting ! Im trying to get a closeup of some ants and some other small insects. Maybe its me but I just cant get a good close up of them. they are sharp but i would like them to fill in more of the frame.
