Canon 30d and Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro lens

So its been a while since i actually went out side and took any pictures, I have mainly been shooting inside in horrid lighting at the cat shelter I volunteer at using the 30d and nifty fifty, as today was my day off I decided it was time to swap lenses and take some picture's, here is one of them:

I am trying extra hard with the rule of thirds, my monitor is new and un calibrated -im buying spyder2 when i get my next pay cheque so if this looks awful let me know
