Canon 350D LCD

Hi

Stupid question!
can I use the LCD on the back to frame my picture rather than the view finder
I have looked through the menu but cannot find how to turn it on.

No...unlike digicams, a DSLR has a mirror that blocks the sensor and only flips up when you press the shutter release button. The advantage is that what you see through the viewfinder is a direct reflection of what the lens is seeing....allthough, the viewfinder coverage is usually not 100% of what the film/sensor sees.
