Hey quick question!

How long can I expose an image on the Canon 40d before the sensor gets dangerously warm.

Ill be shooting at ISO 100

Its about 25 degrees Fahrenheit and dropping.

Anyone have any info?

I have heard of 10 min to 1 hour exposures with that camera in low temperature situations. How long are you looking to do ?

A few days maybe....the battery would probably die long before that.
I don't really know...but it's not something that I think you need not worry about. People take exposure that are several hours long, with DSLR cameras and don't seem to have a problem.

Part if the equation, is how much light you're recording as well. For example (I think) that a one minute exposure of the sun, would be way more damaging than a 6 hour exposure of the night sky.
