canon 50d image prooblems

When i zoom in lenses I get what looks like a window screen when the lens is wide open. When I back off zoom to wider angle everything starts to look much sharper It dosent matter which zoom lens I use. Primes look fine

Have you taken a photo with the lens while you were zoomed in? If so, post it.
