Canon 50mm F1.8 review?

does anyone have this lens? it was about $85 new from B and H, same price as with most places. anyway, i think there is something really wrong with this lens. when i view the photos taken, it's weird; they look HIGHLY saturated like the contrast is really jacked up. there are no details....just washed out contrasty weirdness. imagine jacking the contrast up a little too much in photoshop, that is what i'm kind of talking about. i don't get it. my other lenses are mint. i'm shooting with a 20D and 30D. no issues with any other lens.
