Hopefully this will work in the indoor arenas ! I was hoping to get the 70-200 2.8 is but this fit the budget sooner. Should have some shots with it this weekend.

I shot basketball for a bit with a 100mm f/2 this fall. I found it to be a little bit tight if you're sitting behind the basket. Let me know how the 85mm works out because I was thinking of getting one too :).

Looking forward to seeing them.

Horse show arenas, looking at a bunch of my shots from a couple weeks ago alot of my shots were around that range if I was at the mid point of the arena and they were at the ends of the arena or across. Really would be nice if the 24-105 come in a f2. It is supposed to be here tommorrow so we will see. I thin it will work decent for some portraits too, I want to get some outdoor portrait pics of the family and want to have the background well out of focus.

The 85 is a great lens for the price. I like to rock it on my $2,700 full frame camera instead of the $1,500+ zooms that I own.

I wish they had a 24-105 F2! bet that would be pricey though.

Oh well would cover most of the smaller range I need and FAST! I guess a 24-70 2.8 will have to fill that gap

Other than being a little bit long for basketball, the 100mm f/2 I had was an AMAZING piece of glass. From what I understand, the 85mm is maybe a little sharper so you should thoroughly enjoy it.

This lens is GREAT!!! I am uploading pictures right now so it is taking forever tonight! This lens does take a bit more work with the very narrow DOF, but no complaints at all and the focusing is lightning fast.

Can't wait to the see the pics :)

1/500 iso 1600 f2.8 no flash!
