Canon 90 autofocus issues

I have noticed that this is not Autofocus on my 90 is not as good as my 7DMKII - any ideas on how to fix this?

As an example, on a recent trip the 7DMKII could photograph arctic terns - the 90 could not.

the 90 is a less expensive camera and the auto focus is most likely inferior to that of the 7d. I have a 7d, 5d, and an R5. We have an older 80d which we never use. The last time my wife used it was several years ago in the Galapagos Islands. Her photos were ok, but she used a 7d two years later in the Antarctica. Those photos were much better and more in focus. Since then she has used a 5d and the focus is even better than the 7d. Now, we use the R5 and the focus is unbelievable.
