Canon or Nikon

Hi I have always been a canon person my first camera was a canon.I then purchased the canon S5 IS but feel I have outgrown that one and would like to upgrade to a entry level SLR but now the question is Canon T4i or Nikon D3200 I have read up on both and what sucks is one has features I like that the other doesn't and vise versa.Would like opinions from people who have been lucky enough to have used them both. Thanks in advance

Hello,

First, have you tried them ? The features are quite similar. But it's important to feel them. When I had to choose my DSLR a few years ago, I was hesitating between nikon D90 and Canon 450. When I tried both, I knew that D90 was the one I needed.
Second, To my opinion, when you choose a DSLR, you choose the model (T4i or 3200) but also the make (Nikon or Canon) ! And the choice of the make is important because you are going to buy lenses for your DSLR, and when you will want to change of DSLR in a few years, you will have to take the same make if you want to keep your lenses.

Hello,

I don't have both so I may not be of any help. I have a Nikon 3200 and I am very happy with it. So far I don't have any sort of feelings of wishing I had gone another way.

If I could add two things to the Nikon 3200 it would be bracketing and a depth of field preview button.

I really am happy with my camera. I have nothing against Cannon though. I just went with Nikon because I'd had great experiences with some of their other products and the reviews seemed fine.

On just an image sensor performance basis the Canon T4i doesn't measure up the the Nikon D3200
