Canon Powershot G5 ?

I have the intention to buy it. Anybody had some experience? I read only good reviews..but it doesn't hurt to get some more opinions

Can anybody recommend some other cameras in this class..similar to this Canon..semi-professional..with options for manual handling of focus, exposure..etc. ISO 400 is enough i think..5 MP..so..like the Canon..

I have heard good things about the G5 but I don't know if I would spend that kind of money on a compact digital camera.

While it may not be in the same class, I think the Canon Digital Rebel is fairly close in price to the G5, unless the G5 has come down in price with the release of the G6.

The digital rebel is obviously much bigger (with a lens) than the G5 but the sensor is much, much bigger which means that you would get vastly superior picture quality.
