I am using the supplied image software shipped with my Canon camera. Specifically, the EOS Utility and the Digital Photo Professional software. Both are exceptionally slow on my 2.8ghz Intel Extreme iMac w/4GB RAM.
Is there another way, using OSX, to get images off of my camera? Take my old Sony Cyber Shot as an example, when I plugged it in iPhoto opened and I could grab my photo's that way. I have Photoshop, so I don't need the supplied Digital Photo Professional software (at least I think I don't)... so it's annoying when it auto launches after an image import. It's the worst offender when it comes to slow performance. I would like to at least disable that application so it doesn't launch automatically, but can't find a way to do that.
Ultimately, I would like to be able to use the native OSX image application(s). Is that possible?
