canon t1i issue

Sorry new here. I have a foolish question. I have a t1i with 18 -55 efs lens. I just pickup a ef 75-300mm lens off CL. I m having issue using this lens , im trying to put this lens on and i can not get it to lock in. Im lining up the red dots and turn right but i will not move very far to right. The AF/MF switch on lens is still lined up underneath flash after ive turn it to right. I feel like shouldnt take that much effort to turn it. any help please.

Welcome aboard.
Any EF lens should mount to any EOS camera...so it 'should' work.
Maybe take a photo of the back of the lens (and possibly the open front of the camera), maybe something is damaged.

If you can, I'd suggest going into a camera store and trying the lens on another camera body (and maybe trying another lens on the camera). This should help narrow it down.
