Will Canon reduce the price of XT & XTI, once the XSI is released in April? If so, what percentage do you think they will be reduced?

I am ready to buy an XT, but may wait until April if the price will be reduced.

Thanks,
RTX

i have no idea. but i do know that you can now get an xt for 200-300 bucks. so i don't know how much more someone can reduce that. :)

edit: oh, okay a new one, sorry wasn't reading correctly. :(

I doubt it's up to Canon. I'm fairly sure they stopped making the XT when the XTi came out...and they have probably stopped making (and selling) the XT now that the XSi is out of the bag.

I'd bet that it's up to the retailers to clear out their stock...so the prices may go down...but they won't go too low because the retailers with a large stock, probably bought them from Canon a while back (high price).

Thanks Big Mike!

Cowlady, where can I find an XT for $200-$300?

Thanks for your help!

used ones are everywhere!

theyre probably $500 brand new.
but if used is okay....

try the sell forums here

photography-on-the.net/forum/
(their buy/sell section has lots of xt/xti's)

and i've seen fredmiranda.com having a lot of xt sales lately too.

good luck!

I guess, after the Xsi is released the 350D would go out of production like the 300D...
400D would take 350D's place & 450D will take 400D's place.
But the reduction in price of the 400D would be gradual not immediate.
~i guess~
