can't import in LR.

so this has never happened before: i'm trying to import to LR4 and it says preview not available and won't let me import. i don't understand why, suggestions please.

Did you just get a new camera? I'm guessing you don't have the latest version of LR4 on your computer and it needs to be updated to have the proper software for your newer camera. I got 'bit' on that one when I upgraded to a 5D mark iii.

Have you tried to drag and drop what you want to import as well as clicking on the import button?

You might need to convert your images to dng, if your camera is newer than your LR.

yes, i recently got a D610. but the first few hundred imports worked fine and then boom nothing.
what i did to solve the issue was re-format the card but now i have a couple hundred images that won't import, it's just weird.


1. they are dng.
2. drag & drop didn't work.
3. but i'll try updating LR.

so re-formatting actually doesn't work…
it imports jpeg, but not raw?

I thought LR v4.x was not compatible with the d610. It is for the d600.
I thought the solution was to go to LR v5.x

but if your LR 4 was importing d610 RAWs then that makes no sense.

yup problem was i needed the latest version of lightroom.
