Thanks Rick! I made it a bit dark to portray the waning light of the evening. Can you point out what made the photo flat? could it be the lighting?

I'm sure the subdued lighting is the culprit for the flatness.

I actually made three separate corrections on this. Bringing the foreground stones up to where I thought they should be, over exposed the water and sky.
So the three adjustments I made was, foreground stones, water and sky and finally the background cliffs. I treated it much like dodging and burning a paper print. I'm sure there's an easier way to do things than the way I do it. I just do what works for me.

It's really all a matter of taste. I prefer B&W to be more on the contrasty side, while in reality, your eyes would probably see closer to your rendition given the available light.

I see, thanks! I have actually burned/dodged a few areas in the photo. The sky was a bit "misty" at that time that's why lighting was subdued.
