I did one last night testing out a new strip box I got a few weeks back. Once I put the two photos together and get everything edited, I'll post it up. Definitely convinced me to purchase another Photoflex strip box; the light was absolutely amazing.

i actually have a bunch of lightpainting shots on my flickr. your welcome to check it out and ask in a message (just dont want to wander mentally too much in a car discussion thread) id be happy to answer any questions about them. it's different for every shot. and i've never gone ninja to do it either, kinda like the effect sometimes like in my one in the dog set. cheers.

and i dont think ruling out flickr is a great idea as well. hence the "etc," guess i should have spelled it out. getting ideas from multiple places is always choice, make the shot yourself.

Here's the photo from the other night that I have to finish editing. I did the major part of putting the two photos together, now I just have to remove the reflection. There's a darkspot on the front fender, so I have to remember to work on coverage. I'm going to be getting another strip box and two booms, so that should help out tremendously.

Anyways, this is a composite from two photos. The camera was on a tripod. The first photo was with the strip box help up horizontally and parallel to the car and the second was the same way, but with the strip box parallel to the front of the car. This was shot with a 400w/s pack with one head @ 400w/s.



Edit: Anyways, this illustrates what I always say in threads where people are asking about how to light a car. I see a trend that a lot of photographer like where they use Bees and aim them slightly at the ground infront of the car. The lighting won't be very even when they do that and they're lighting the ground, so you'll see a lot of reflection from the asphalt in the car. With the strip box being above the car, the light goes from top down instead of bottom and then up, like most actual lighting. This lets you properly illuminate the car. Truthfully, I wouldn't mind having three more of these for maximum coverage.
