The backgrounds aren't helping at all. Use a cleaner, simpler background or something that compliments the car. The piles of junk in the second, the rusty columns growing out of the windshield and trunk. Things like that detract from the overall composition, they don't add to it.

Thanks :) ill keep that in mind next time im out.

I personally would have edited out the crack in the road in the first photo. I find the second one to be really nice, but I probably would have tried HDR for it.

Yes, i too tend to complain about a distracting surrounding.... That does not mean the car needs be placed in a totally blank/isolated place ...only that it must blend artistically with the car...Placing car at the exact center(as in #1) or as if ready to move out of the frame (as in #2) are treated as bad compositions ( but there can be exceptions )

Regards :D

Thanks - That will ensure that the blue sky in the background isnt as over exposed in between the trees yes?

Thanks - Does doing what was mentioned above blend the car into the surroundings too easily? do you have some possible suggestions as to where you would have placed the car within the frame for a better composition?

Thanks again guys this is great help :)

O, no... you cannot see things through my eyes or think with my brain.... experiment yourself... until you find the blend is successful....

waiting.....

Cheers ;)

Lighting is flat. Perhaps google the golden hours for photography at your city. dramatize the lighting with a combo of ambient and off camera flash and make the car pop
