carbon fiber tripods

I am hoping to recieve some feedback on both the Gitzo 1127 as well as the slik 713. Both are very comparable as far as size, weight and features. There is over $100 price difference, and being that I live in a rural area I am unable to play with each before making my decision; so am I paying for the Gitzo name, or am I "getting what I pay for". I really apriciate the imput.

I have not seen the Slik but know Gitzo is high end stuff. If you can afford it, go with the Gitzo.

One is probably true carbon fiber while the other is not.
