I feel like this could have been such a better shot. Why do these look so bad to me?
edit: i know these arnt cardinals, was looking at different pics when i wrote topic

First, they aren't cardinals, they are red-bellied woodpeckers.

Exif shows a focal lenth of 560mm, which requires a very steady support to get clear, crisp photos, even at 1/800.

Yea, I know. Just logged on because it just clicked in my head. I was looking at pictures on my computer of cardinals and decided to post the peckers instead.

The lens was sitting on my tripod and I used one of those button things to take the picture for me, so I didnt touch the camera at all. (I'm really tired right now as you might be able to tell. Can't think of the name)
