Holy Crap, RAID!!!!!!

[BrentC]

Wow!

[Don Kondra]

Are those gypsy moth caterpillars?

Tent or forest caterpillars.

I've got a 2 gallon hand pump sprayer and BTK biological insecticide.

Not sure how much of an impact that is going to make, sigh...

Cheers, Don

On my hikes I have been seeing a lot of tent caterpillars as well. Not on that scale though and not nearly as bad as they were twenty years ago when every tree had them but definitely more than I have seen in a long time.

[Dean_Gretsch]

Yeah we get a lot every year too. I remember my grandfather back in the late 60's, maybe 1970 making torches on long poles to rid his apple trees of them.

that might warrant a flamethrower.

[jcdeboever]

Geez,that is incredible

[baturn]

Wow! I don't think I've ever seen them quite that bad.

[Gary A.]

Wow ... don't open a window.

[Don Kondra]

Wow ... don't open a window.

So far the back door is not bad to use, only a couple or four follow me in !

Sprayed with BTK, a biological insecticide but they just keep coming, sigh..

Wanna help me hook up the hose ?

The pile in the corner is over 6" deep

Tonight I'm going to wash them off the walls with a mix of vinegar and soap, and then soak the piles.

Wish me luck,

Cheers, Don
