Great shot, but the crop is a bit too extreme for my taste.
2:3 or 4:3 - cropping off the blurry stuff at the bottom - would be an improvement I think.
That dark corner at the bottom right pulls the eye too much.

Yep, that's exactly what my mom just suggested, LOL. here's two crops thanks!

p.s. does he seem oversharpened?

Great timing and focus on this. Good angle on the dog too. And yes, I think it does look a little bit over-sharpened, but not disconcertingly so, but just a little bit.
