Caught some lightning from above

[Aze]

Thought this was pretty cool, even though the photo is pretty weak. I had really found the lightning pictures taken here very interesting and never knew the trick was extremely long exposures. As chance would have it I was flying home Sunday night and we flew past a pretty impressive thunderstorm. I pulled the camera out and crossed my fingers. The pictures were ok, unfortunately I was behind the wing and had to wait until we passed it before I could get a clear shot without the lights of the plane interfering. I'd say I had more fun trying to get the picture than appreciating the final outcome. Still, I'm really enjoying all that I'm learning here and seeing it come in handy. Anywho, here is my crappy photo of a lightning storm from 38,000 feet.
