I don't like #1, needs a lot more contrast than that to work. Plus I don't like how they don't have feet and are missing fingers.

#2 is nice but the crop is weird. They are so far at the top of the picture...... don't think you need all that water at the bottom. Just recrop.

I love, love, love #3. Maybe it's the mom in me but if those were my boys I would be absolutely crazy about that one.

#4&5 are nice..... cropped a little tight though.

Overall I like them!

#4 & #5 looking down on the children is not the best camera angle.

For your growth in the hobby, can you see the difference between #4 & #5? #4 was at 33mm, #5 was at 47mm. For portraits of people, a longer lens will distort faces less. So besides the camera angle, you should zoom in or use a longer lens. Of course, you will automatically move farther back from your subject, which is what you need to do. I would seldom use anything shorter than 50mm, and more like 85mm for individual head-and-shoulders portraits. You're going to be 10 to 20 feet away from your subjects, but that is better than being right on top of them.

Yes, haha, that's actually why some of them are cropped so tight.. I had to remove the blurry blob of the other child playing next to them I have two young kids of my own and very few pictures of them because they won't ever sit still!

Ha! I have given up capturing my son "still" at any moment. Photographing him is a legit WORK OUT. I just chase him around with my camera and a very high shutter speed usually. lol
