Changing Lenses, Dust On Sensor and Equipment Question

I change my lenses in the vacuum of space in low-earth orbit. No chance of dust sneaking in for me.

You, shouldn't do that. Even at low orbiting heights you'll likely increase the radiation from space and the sun onto your camera. As a result you've probably lost a lot of pixels in the camera. If you keep at it you can lose whole Megapixels! Suddenly your 24MP camera is 23 or even 22!

I only change the lens during the 45-minute part of the orbit that's in the earth's shadow.

Honestly if you're rocking with a DSLR and 2 or more lenses - you're already one of the "camera nerds"

That said I do like the idea, though I'd be concerned that its putting weight on your hip on a belt with no harness. Fine for standing shots, but you start shooting from the knee or try eating a mid-shoot meal and suddenly that belt is going to drive you mad.

Nope.

I usually have 3 lenses on me, one on the body, and one in each of my front sweatshirt pockets. I don't put lens caps/rear caps on them. I'll switch between them often and don't get much dust on the sensor. If I do eventually, I'll clean the sensor... it's not that big a deal.
