Chardonnay C&C Please

Is there a thought, vision or intention with this image? I have to say that as-is, I'm not getting much from it. Why is the bottle cropped at the bottom?

I'm not either tired. Why the strange perspective? Strange is often good, but it still needs some sort of purpose.

I actually really like this. I like the dust and the red hue. The comp seems off to me though... If you would have pulled it away from the wall so the background was uninterrupted, and if you wouldn't have cropped the bottom of the bottle.

I don't think it screams vertical orientation at all. It screams "why did you clip the bottle bottom".

I like the dividing line, and particularly how it connects to the curve at the bottom of the foil wrapper, keeping that line continuous.
I don't like the black bob on the right edge, but I do like the lines the shadows create. There is more subtle interest there than you all are giving credit.

Vertical framing would have lost all that, and become a much more of a bore.

What I like about all of this is the lines/angles you created with the grain of the wood vs the shadows & the table edge. I also like how the frost on the bottle carries the white of the top down to the label. Great job, IMO. Two things, bottom crop and the three white dots to the right. I'd clone the dots out because they scream for attention when your eye wants to follow all the cool lines. Now if you had done this with the empty bottle, you wouldn't have had the frost (or is it dust?) but the mood would have been much more understandable.

Yeah i noticed the crop as well but by the time I was editing it in Lightroom I just left it. And yeah its dust on that bottle.

I think this is one of those love it or not love it shots. Sadly I'm not on the love boat - it just doesn't do anything for me.
