The framing is pretty good on this; no chopped limbs, enough space to frame without losing any importrant parts. And the kid is cute, to boot!

It's a bit underexposed. I did a quick edit in PS. Adjusted exposure, and did some tiny enhancements (her nose looks a little red, probably a chilly day!)

As for the picture, there are a couple issues with it, namely white balance and exposure.

Off camera flash is your friend! Even a reflector would have likely helped this image immensely.

^+1. A cheap reflector will improve your photos 129087487598%. With little ones, wearing a white shirt can help too - it's just big enough to reflect some sun onto their faces.

As others have said, it's underexposed, which will limit the extent to which you can fix it up in post.

Beyond that, it could use what most shots can use, which is some contrast, white balance, and general exposure compensation.
