Chasing one of my kids around for a different portrait

I posted this in the lensbaby forum, but since nobody looks there, I'll try here. Its not some thing that everyone will like, but I'm interested in opinions, advice, etc.

Other than the black fringe on the left side of the photo, I too like it. Maybe feather the black a little more.

The black sort of bothers me, but I'm not to sure if I'd like a crop of it.

The only thing I did before I uploaded it was a white balance adjustment.

Being on my craptastic laptop right now its tough to tell how much black creeps in, ha/\.
