Chester UK - getting used to the DSLR

Took a trip into Chester last night in an effort to familiarise myself with my new DSLR, Samsung GX-10. All C&C appreciated

Are you happy with your new camera so far then?
Of these two, I like the first, it is a bit more dynamic with the flowing water. The water shows different "textures", if that can be said about water, which I like.
The second looks a bit like "test shot" to me, though.
