Chicago Fire Dancers 2011

I found these on my old HD from last year...didn't even have a tripod then (would have been helpful with the long exposures LOL). Used my 20d with 18-55mm. I had a ton of fun editing these...thanks for looking!

Neat! Wish you had used some flash to stop the motion of the dancer in some. We had some fire dancers down on the beach when the gypsies came through this year. They stayed for a while. So cool to watch them!

Believe it or not, these were taken from some distance away (at least 20ft, even further on some)...just had a pop-up flash. With exposures as long as 4 seconds to get the fire/light painting effect, do I think my flash would have been successful? Thanks for the advice!

You'd need to be able to use rear/second curtain sync with your flash. The flash could have reached the subjects.
