Chicago Night Shots

Recently bought a tripod which surprisingly makes taking shots at night so much easier!

I love Chicago but I hate how our lights are orange. I think they said that would change but so far not yet completed!

Too many pictures. The good news is I liked most of them. I would eliminate the first one all together though. And change the crop on the one with the blue faced ladies.

Yeah, way too many to comment on, but these three caught my eye, for different reasons:

5--Love this one; though I'd be tempted to clone out that bright orange light out on the water, about 1/3 in from the right.

11--I like the IDEA of this shot, but it falls a little short, for me, because the girls get lost in the frame. I agree with the idea of maybe cropping this some to bring the focus on to the girls.

12--I'm watching the news right now, and I don't recall hearing ANYTHING about an Alien Spaceship landing in the middle of Chicago!!

5, 8 14 all work for me. I would have to say its because of the amount of textures and colors present.

Yeah I thought about cloning it out but decided to leave it just so it stays true to how I saw it.

Also yeah I that picture is already pretty cropped so if I cropped in more I'd probably lose more detail.

And yeah, the "Bean". It's actually called the Cloud Gate but everyone calls it the bean. To be honest I hate it but everyone crowds around it and it has become part of Chicago's landmarks so whatever.

Pretty nice shots, for the most part. I too like night cityscape photography, but around here they turn all the lights off at 10pm so the cows can sleep.

I've found that shooting in RAW gives me the ability to adjust lighting to my tastes, whether the original be high pressure sodium, tungsten, fluorescent, or whatever.

The problem is mixed lighting, some lights have been changed, others not so custom white balancing is not so easy.
