I've kept chickens - and their idea of harmony is to peck the chicken soup out of each other until an order emerges: strongest at the top, weakest at the bottom. Hence the expression 'pecking order'.
The poor chicken at the bottom usually ends up featherless.
If I'm not mistaken that's pretty much how our society works now so what's for us to learn? :er:
