Some time ago my mother took my daughter to the local conservatory, which has a permanent Chihuly exhibit. While I don't find his work all that interesting, I find it more interesting in B&W. :D

I have seen his work in the past and the color plays an important role
 
I like this, but I've definitely seen some of his pieces that benefit from color. I think that with a B&W conversion of a photo like this, you'd really want to emphasize structure & contrast -- is there any more definition to be found in the light-colored parts of the first photo?
 
I like Chihuly. I've seen the Chihuly museum in St. Pete. And the Borgatta in Atlantic City has an extensive Chihuly collection. Here's something I shot of his work:

I saw his work at the Bronx Botanical Garden in New York about 10 years ago. He is great
