Hey guys this weekend I am going to photoshoot a childrens birthday party. It's going to be my first paid shoot I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on this. Also would my 24-70 suffice or should I consider renting out a 70-200 f 2.8. The gear I was thinking about bringing nikon d600 w/ 24-70 (possibly 70-200?) and my sb 910. Thanks!

hmm lets delete this post, it slipped my mind to use the search bar, my apologies lol.

The 24-70 is more than sufficient. I personally wouldn't bother with a 70-200 for a birthday unless it is outside at a big park. I usually stay really close to the birthday individual and a definite yes to the speedlite

24-70 and SB 910 ought to be ample gear for a birthday party. Watch your backgrounds!!! Pay attention through the viewfinder, and avoid zeroing in on just the kid(s) in the foreground--backgrounds at parties usually have a LOT of stuff going on, and can at times be very distracting.
