Yeah, I realized that is was so shallow once I loaded it up on the computer and was too lazy to redo it.

You mean smaller?

What was the aperture you used?

Try focus stacking.

Bigger or smaller, meaning more depth of field.

Aperture was 5.6, ISO 400 Shutter Speed something like 1/20th. On hindsight, I probably should have used a tripod.

Never heard of that before, I'll have to look it up.

Yep. Stop the lens down to 22, shoot at ~1 sec on a tripod.... see what that does.
