Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I have a competition coming up, and once again, I can't decide on my second image...

The competition is "Architecture & Record", so images showing architecture, or shots that record things (club rules say "You could almost rebuild the subject by looking at the record shot"). Basically, artistic interpretation is frowned upon in this catagory, the catagory is more functional...

So, given these few options, what do you think is the one to enter? And why?

Thanks in advance of your great advice. :)

Thank you.

#3, - reasonably framed, exposed and interesting pattern
#1 and #4 are just record shots of architectural carvings - not much interest or originality.
#2 is pretty standard shot, not particularly interesting or well-composed

Architecture is sculptures into which you can enter ...yet i think pure sculptures need be kept aside if the competition is for architecture

Among the four images, a photographer's contribution is best in the second i feel
Of course i liked them all

Regards

#3

Composition is good. Perhaps a little more process to get the dimension to 'pop' but it's my favorite from the set.

Thanks. "just" Record shots are accepted in this competition, so the plaques do fit the criteria. I am swayed towards the wall, however, so we agree somewhat. :)

Cheers. :)

Thank you. The competition SHOULD read "Architecture OR record" I think...record shots, such as the plaques, are acceptable.

Thanks for your opinions, however, they are always welcome. :)

That's a great cherub, but I think the first is a better photo. I might darken the upper left to even out the lighting, either using a gradient on a brightness adjustment layer, or just painting on the layer.

Just in case anyone is interested, my "Wall Detail at Wenlock Priory scored 15.74 and the winning image scored 15.94.
I didn't come second or 3rd, however, as there were two images with 15.89 which just knocked me out of the top 3.
There were 34 entries in total, however, so not bad. :)

I used my last, possibly oversharpened, edit...and this was a good choice! The projector needs replacing, and the sharpness counterracted the less-than suitable projection. :)
Cheers
