Clara Sitting (and a bts shot)

Here's another shot from the same session with Clara. This time I used a bare 430EXII flash as my key and a shoot through umbrella/430EXII as my ambient light to lift some detail in the shadow.

and the shadow are too dark and too much cross light for me.

I kind of like the theatrical quality of the lighting on this shot. The strong shadows give her a feeling of three dimensionality.

I think you mean fill, not ambient.

I like the light, as Derrell mentioned, is has a theatrical quality to it. I'm not a big fan of the pose, the angle or the model's expression.

WOW; i really liked both the shots; and she looks wonderful in second image; if her part is cut and shown separately( if pixels permit) that would be wonderful, i am sure

is that glare or reflection from the umbrella on the wall behind her? Looks like the same effect the shine off of a pool has. I think the Shadow is a little too strong as well :S
