Hi,

I've just received my AE prism finder for Mamiya m645. Unfortunately it has some fingerprints on the glass (probably guys from customs... eh...). Can I clean it just as a lens, using microfibre cloth and an optics-cleaning liquid?

Since the viewfinder does not affect the photographic image, you can clean it in any way that you like, you will not spoil the optics.

A few weeks ago, I bought a used Mamiya RZ67 that came with a prism viewfinder. Unfortunately, there was some small mold and fogging on the prism and some of the optical parts. I bravely disassembled the unit and cleaned it with what I had on hand (Zeiss cleaning fluid and lens tissue), and it came out perfect.

RB67 is a serious film camera. Have you shot anything with it yet?

Greybeard – I've shot maybe 6 rolls so far. I haven't had the color rolls processed yet, and I still need to get my hands on a decent scanner to digitize B&W stuff that I've developed myself. I'm rediscovering 120 and 35mm after years of digital. The RB/RZ is a beast, but I really enjoy how much it slows down the process of image making. Oh, and the sound of the shutter is simply magical.

A while back I was going through some old albums I had stored in my shed. I found several large ones full of 8x10 B&W's I had shot with a Mamiya C330. It made me remember how much fun printing in a darkroom was. But, not enough to make me want to build a dedicated darkroom like I had back in the 1980's. I have boxes of B&W negatives and I would also like to get my hands on a descent scanner and digitize all my old negatives.

How did you disassemble the viewfinder?? I recently got it and there is mold also and I can’t figure out how to disassemble it.
