A client just asked me if I can take two headshots at an event I will be photographing.

I have an event rate, and a headshot rate.

I know some people probably think "no big deal," but it actually doesn't feel good to me as I charge for headshots, and to take one (or more) at an event I'm shooting that I'm not getting compensated for, doesn't feel right.

So just curious what people do in these situations, how you talk to clients about it.

Thanks!

Jayme

Is the headshot client the one who hired you for the event? If so, I would offer than a reduced rate. If not, then full rate. Explain to the client that while yes, you're going to be there anyway, it's different equipment, additional lighting, different processing, and and additional time.
