Better viewed in flickr on a black screen but your blacks are right at that point where they are blocking up and this tends to suck the life out of the upper midtones.

Personally, I would lighten up the cliffs a fair amount more (relative to what you have already done), but apply a mask so that it only lightens the cliffs. And I wouldn't just do an overall lighten. If you have it in raw, lighten the highlights, but don't move your blacks too far. Or, use your levels adjustment. To me it's almost a little muddy.

Not sure about Lightroom, don't have it. But you can do it in PS Elements, and I'm pretty sure I saw v11 (latest) at Sam's Club for $75. Otherwise it's right around $100.

You don't say whether or not we can edit your photos. I'll work on something quick. Let me know if you want me to post it or not. Might convince you whether or not to invest in more software.

You can make these adjustments in light room.

Here's what I came up with I think from the second one. Again, sky was left as is by masking it off from the levels adjustment.

Deeky, that's really cool. That's for showing me that. I like that the sky is still a nice deep color but the cliffs are still well-defined. Awesome! I guess I'll have to go buy PS Elements haha.
