Close up photography with Nikon D70s

Hi there. This is my first post here. I need an advice on how to proceed with a photoshoot. I am going to be shooting jewelry (rings, necklaces, earrings etc). I have a Nikon D70s with the standard 18-70mm/3.5-4.5 zoom lens that comes with it. I know that this lens is a bad idea for macro photography, but I barely have any budget to get a macro lens. Would a close up lens (such as Nikon 62MM #5T close up lens - Used Nikon 62mm #5T Close-up Lens 4536 B&H Photo Video be a good idea in this case? Or maybe some other close up lens that is not going to break my bank? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
