Since I had time to play, I broke out what I have called my max-reach kit. I have a fully manual Tamron 400mm with a 2x tele-converter and I mated it to my D7000 to get pseudo-reach due to the crop sensor.

I got the lens at an estate sale for essentially nothing since it was so full of fungus I figured it was garbage. I have since discovered that it can a nice job.

So here's Clucky launching himself from the nest.

I'll have to look for a good example but I've also caught him with his wings fully tucked looking like a Tomahawk missile being launched from a tube.

The frame-rate of my D4 is my friend! But I have gotten better at anticipating when he/she will leap.
