...I have an 81 year old co-worker named Ed that works here in the office with me. (I work for my step-dad's construction company)
We don't really NEED him here....I could easily take care of everything on my own. But, he owned his own construction company from the time he was out of the military, til just a few years ago when a stroke forced him to retire.....he was MISERABLE in retirement...so, about 3-4 years ago, my stepdad hired him to help out in the office, and offer his expertise whenever needed. Doesn't really matter what Ed does or doesn't do in a given day...Ed will have a job here until his health (which isn't great) no longer allows him to make it to the office.
ANYWAY....just had to tell all that, so you'll understand that it's perfectly acceptable to the boss that Ed accidentally falls asleep in his chair (quite often) after lunch.
He sometimes says the WEIRDEST things when he's asleep, or just waking up. Just now, he'd fallen asleep, and a loud truck that went by and woke him up a little. He then called me Carrie, asked me what month it was, and mumbled something about a floor joist!
Anyone else have any strange stories to tell about quirky co-workers, or strange things that have happened at work?
