Cokin Filters on a Tokina 11-16

Is there a way to make the P-series Cokin filters work with the 11-16 Tokina lens?

I went out today for the first time with both and didn't know the filter holder would "crop" the edges. BAD

I have the standard adapter ring(77mm), and the Cokin filter holder.

I would like to know what you "experts" are using.

Is my best alternative to just buy screw on filters?
