haha I was not saying for yall to decide what I should do I just wanted to hear some ideas, my first choice school UD has over 125+ majors lol so it is kind of hard to narrow it down to one, I was thinking Econ

Definitely not Econ... at least not undergrad degree. I know enough people who had that degree and went back to school for something else.

Think of college as an investment and research future prospects. I am tired of hearing graduates with unmarketable degrees crying that they have too much college debt or cant find a job. What did they expect?

I agree... kinda dumb question.

To answer more directly.... I think a degree in Photography is not smart. Maybe as a second degree on top of something else.

Btw... Computer degrees with no parallel study is often not the right way to go these days... CS with a minor in Business.. etc..

Not sure but doesnt it seem that those are the only guys making money and obtaining any sort of job security these days? Business is applicable if you intend on starting a photobusiness someday.

US companies are hurting so bad for those positions they are recruiting and paying bick bucks for folks from other countries to come here to work in those jobs.

THIS they will only do when their recruits are GOOD in their jobs!

So: study anything you feel is mostly "you" and put your heart into your studies, listen to what your instructors or teachers tell you, study hard, and then... anything you do should be ok.
Do German Literature... if the suggested subject is not so much "yours". Maybe?

I did German Literature in German, of course. It was quite a challenging series of courses for each period of German Literature.

I have both a traditional academic degree plus a more technical hands-on degree and this has worked well for me.

My traditional academic degree is in languages and literatures in the original language. Although other subject areas are just as good, the end value was speaking, writing and editing skills. This meant for example, that I could write well-organzed business proposals, budget and grant requests, make presentations, write scripts for productions, write and edit newsletters with photos etc.

The technical/hands-on degree was in film and television production and I used the knowledge gained to branch into producing television programs and educational materials in video format. I eventually did multi-image productions/presentations mixing photos with animation and video too.

The end result is that I have never been tied to just one area such as wedding or sports photography for example. If the market or business goes down in one area I can always get into something else and I have done exactly that.
